How Many Confirmations Do You Need?

Hi!

How many ways do you have to see with your own eyes before you believe that someone is for you or against you?  What does it take for you to come to grips with the realization that someone IS NOT your friend, and that they are secretly jealous of you?  How many times does it come into your spirit to stop confiding in certain people because they have shown you their private competition with you?  Why do you continuously overlook and laugh away someone’s rude treatment towards you around certain people?  Is it desperation?  Is it the need for acceptance?  Is it loneliness?  What is it that causes you to deny adverse actions from others when they’ve given you proof through experience?

Could it be that you see what’s really going on, but you wish that things were different?  Could it be that you second guess yourself when you see others’ ill-feelings toward you because you don’t want to judge others?  Perhaps you are standing on Matthew 7:1 “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” (KJV)  and Titus 1:15(a) “Unto the pure all things are pure:” (KJV)imageAre you saying that what you clearly see, just doesn’t matter?  Or could it be that you are in total denial, even though you witness the jealousy; the open ridicule, the crab mentality, or the attempts of sabotage?  Why?  Why deny what’s there?  Think about it; and let’s turn the page.

Why is it so difficult to hear when The Lord is trying to tell us something?  Why do we make poor choices in our lives and then say, “Something told me not to do that?” …And on the contrary, why is it so difficult for you to see when God has placed favor upon your life?  How many ways has God relayed to you that you are called, chosen and anointed for this?  Has He told you through a letter, a preached word, the written word, a true friend, a perfect stranger, a still small voice or a dream?  Well, why do you hesitate to believe and respond to the call?  How many confirmations do you need?

Confirmations come to help you grow.

My friends, we often have so many things racing through our minds until we unknowingly overlook life’s teaching moments.  We breeze through confirmations that The Lord gives us in our everyday lives.  Have you ever walked into a courthouse in one city and to a clerk’s window in an entirely different city, and a different person in both locations asked you if you are an attorney?  imageDid these instances teach you?  Perhaps The Lord wants you to go to Law school.  Or perhaps He’s letting you know that you carry yourself in a businesslike authoritative way.   ….Have you ever spoken at an event where your full bio wasn’t read and several people asked you if you are a professional educator?  Perhaps The Lord is confirming that you have a gift of teaching.  You might be a certified teacher or adjunct professor feeling down about your abilities, and God is giving you a confirmation through someone’s questions.

Confirmations come to help you spring forth.

My friend, what does it take for you to believe that God speaks to you?  What does it take for you to believe that YOU are chosen to do what you do?  What does it take for you to take action and write that musical score, publish those books, try out for that team, apply to that law firm, accept that offer to teach at that college, enroll in those courses, sell those drawings, or accept your call into ministry?  Be attentive to your confirmations and step out on faith.

Here’s something to think about:  A few days before my only daughter passed over into eternity and joined The Lord, I had a peculiar dream that I wrote about in my phone as I sat next to her bed in ICU.  But before I wrote about the dream, I wrote the following:  “Praise God. Mika is able to lift her legs up; and let her bed up and down on her own. She is gaining strength and able to think. Thank you Jesus for all types of progress and victories.”  I was so elated.

Then The Lord placed the following into my spirit to write:  “Thank you Lord for bringing back this dream.  Last night I dreamed Tamika won a marathon race. Praise God. She was so excited when she came to me and said, “Mama, I won!”  I was so ecstatic. image Tamika never ran much throughout her life.  She was often too weak to run.  I thought, “Wow!  Her first marathon!  Praise God; and she won!”   But near the end of the dream, she went inside of a  room that had glass doors and walls.  A bright light filled one side of the room.   As I looked into the room,  there was a nice corridor a huge dance floor or gathering spot under the bright light. There were people dancing, standing around, talking and celebrating.  …The other side (or the other place) was very dim with unknown people.   I looked for Tamika through the glass. but didn’t see her.   …I remember feeling too shy and being told to not go inside that place and search for Mika.  But when I think about that room this morning, I hear The Lord saying that those who won and those who lost were in separate places, but they were all on the other side of the door to where I was on earth.  I could clearly see those in the light place dancing and talking; there were some familiar faces in there.  I didn’t see Tamika, but I knew she was among those celebrating and dancing.  I thought of going in to see if I could find Tamika; but I didn’t. …….It wasn’t the shyness that kept me from going inside and joining those in a gloomy place.  But it was The Lord.  He allowed my shyness to stop me from joining depression.  And I have to help my daughter celebrate her victories despite of the gloominess of the illness.  She still wins!”   And, even though The Lord took my precious daughter, I still believe today that she won.  Even though the progress that Mika made that morning clouded my ability to see what God was really showing me through a dream. That dream was my confirmation that she won.  And praise God!  He allowed me to pray with Tamika that same night and hear her faint voice repeat The Lord’s Prayer and Psalm 23 after me.  And I shall never forget her saying to me, “Mama keep praying!”

The confirmation to spring forth came three weeks after my daughter’s death.  Here is what I wrote: “As I reread the above, I hear The Lord telling me that He was trying to tell me that Mika will win; however I would not see her anymore on this earth.  And that I was not to walk into a place of gloom and uncertainty.   The Lord told me that my daughter was dying, and I refused to receive it.  I blamed the devil for trying to steal my faith, but the dream was confirmation to what The Lord had already told me.  Tamika was leaving us, but she left as a winner.”  Today, I am highly attentive to the confirmations that The Lord allows me to hear and experience.

My friends, thank you for joining me in today’s Tuesday Travailing Moments of Victory.  Next week, we will resume our Monday’s Moments of Reflections.  Until then, I will talk to you Thursday.  I’ll leave you with these questions, “How many confirmations do you need?” And “What are instances in your life where the Lord is whispering or shouting, ‘Can you hear me now!?!'”  Join me in conversation.  I’d love to hear from you.

Blessings!

Rochelle
